AOC’s Constituents Lash Out: ‘She’s About Her and Getting Worldwide Attention’
“This woman has done nothing for the community she was once again elected to serve.”

Oh, man. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Bronx and Queens constituents went off on her in The New York Post.
They hate that AOC makes everything about herself:
Her district offices in the Bronx and Queens offer little to justify the $1.9 million the congresswoman gets to run them — one is only open a single weekday and the other is closed on Fridays, with phones that go unanswered and constituents urged to discuss their problems “by appointment only.”
AOC’s town halls used to be monthly events – now are only held once in a blue moon, there’s virtually no way to get in a question, and sometimes she only phones in and doesn’t bother coming in person, galled constituents said.
The latest town hall took place in Jackson Heights last month. It turned into a mess with AOC only taking six questions before she fled.
The constituents have pressured her to address an $8 billion casino proposed by New York Mets owner Steve Cohen near Citi Field.
AOC reminded them that the area “has been redistricted” out of her district.
The Jackson Heights town hall had already been rescheduled because she “fell ill” after one of her many trips.
Instead of speaking to those she represents, AOC spends most of her time flying on private jets with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to cry about “oligarchs.” They’re ticked off:
“This woman has done nothing for the community she was once again elected to serve,” said Lauro Vazquez of Woodside, Queens.
—
“Of course, it’s cancelled [Jackson Heights town hall] — too busy jet setting around on private jets screaming about ‘oligarchs’ and setting up her bid for a POTUS run,” said Vazquez. “This woman has done nothing for the community she was once again elected to serve.”
“It’s hard to find a private plane – it’s Easter weekend,” mocked Jackson Heights resident Tatiana Lacatus of the cancelled event. “She is too big for us.”
Elmhurst’s Ramses Frias, a Republican City Council candidate, called Ocasio-Cortez an “absentee landlord” disconnected from the reality of her working-class constituents.
“She’s flying around on private jets, talking about the oligarchy, which is not really resonating with the regular guy – the person going shopping over here at the supermarket,” he said, sarcastically adding, “She’s a rock star.”
Concerning the casino, the constituents noted how AOC has no problem latching onto issues outside of her district:
She made headlines in 2021 by briefly volunteering to work at a Houston food bank and help raise more than $5 million for Texans after the state was devastated by winter storms – yet some of her own constituents said she did little to assist New Yorkers that same year who were slammed by Hurricane Ida and still dealing with the pandemic.
The congresswoman paid only lip service after the Trump administration last month announced it was cancelling $200 million in grants for climate-friendly “cloudburst projects” that help absorb heavy rains, according to critics. Some of these projects were slated for parts of flooding-plagued parts of Queens.
Jackson Heights resident Gloria Contreras pointed out that AOC only tackles issues if it gets national attention: “She’s about her and getting worldwide attention while ignoring her constituents.”
The constituents still fume over AOC’s killing of an opportunity to bring an Amazon headquarters to Queens, which would have created 25,000 jobs.
The thing is…will the district keep voting in AOC?
New York’s 14th Congressional District has over 700,000 people.
The district has elected AOC three times. She has dominated all of them, too, winning by over 70% each time.
AOC is up for reelection in 2026. Despite the outcries, I bet she wins again. It’s a solid Democrat district.

I heard a Dem insider type say she can be elected forever from that district and she actually has a good ground game. It seems to be a little worse now that she’s occupied by the big time. Maybe time for a primary opponent? Because that is the only way she will ever be beaten.
“This woman has done nothing for the community she was once again elected to serve.”
Well, duh. How is it you expected otherwise?
Constituents: “You don’t do anything for the community that elected you!”
AOC: “…and?”
They will elect her again the next time. Democrats are consistent that they HAVE to vote for Democrats because it is the Republicans they are told are the evil ones who hate them and don’t work for them….They believe the fairytale
This r*tard is further evidence the people who gravitate toward politics tend to be the least suited for helping anyone but themselves.
Cry me a river! You voted for her 3 times. She yours. Enjoy.
AOC: Living proof that Democrat voters in her district have IQ’s 20 points below the national median. They broke it, they bought it.
Yeah, but those 132,000 people who elected her have now foisted the idiot bartender onto the rest of us.
We will listen to that braying jackass for decades.
30 points below. 30.
Whatchu gonna do, vote Republican?
The reincarnation of George Washington couldn’t get elected in her district with an ‘R’ next to his name.
But a worthless bartender can.
I’m thinking with all the flying around together maybe AOC and Bolshevik Bernie are having an affair. Maybe together they’ve become members of the mile high club.
Real Housewives of Foggy Bottom…
What are they whining about? They were the ones that were stupid enough to elect her.
I give this as little credence as that spate of articles a few weeks ago supposedly showing that Republican voters were turning on their congressmen. Of course all those people turned out to be Democrat activists who had never voted Republican in the first place, and most of whom didn’t even live in the district. Odds are that the same applies here.
Yeah, I could swear I read pretty much this same article after the first time AOC was elected and she still got re-elected almost 70-30.
So? All I’m hearing is WAAAAAAAA! They elected this dunce, she cost her district millions and 25,000 jobs so they rewarded her by re electing her. She cares about her district about as much as the rest of the small band of glory hounds in Congress who seem to show up in the news all of the time. They are in it for the fame and money, constituents have nothing to do with it.
Here’s the thing: it doesn’t matter what her constituency thinks or feels about her. There hasn’t been an election in her part of the city where “the people” chose the winner since 1860 – or before.
She will remain in the seat as long as the Tammany Hall machine finds her useful. She been an experiment in how to attract the next generation of Democrats (on a national level) and until recently at least has been very successful in that role.
“Tammany Hall, also known as the Society of St. Tammany, the Sons of St. Tammany, or the Columbian Order, was an American political organization founded in 1786 and incorporated on May 12, 1789, as the Tammany Society. It became the main local political machine of the Democratic Party and played a major role in controlling New York City and New York state politics. Tammany usually controlled Democratic nominations and political patronage in Manhattan for over 100 years following the mayoral victory of Fernando Wood in 1854, and used its patronage resources to build a loyal, well-rewarded core of district and precinct leaders
